What don’t they get?

I found Mr. Slusher’s column regarding the governor’s statement about reporting on the National Guard issue in Chicago somewhat refreshing.

Admitting that news and opinion can be one sided has been my criticism for quite a while. True balance won’t happen if the Daily Herald continues to use AP, Washington Post and New York Times as lone sources. But that’s for another day.

I’d like to know why the Democrats, namely Brendan Johnson and Gov. Pritzker don’t take up Trump’s offer of help. If they were “for the people” and not in a horse race, they would see the advantage. Their stance is like a handicap. They could clean the streets and make constituents happier if they rounded up the gang bangers and illegal guns and got them off the streets.

It would be easy to point to their success. Instead. they seem to favor street crime and illegal immigrants over the legal hard-working public. Normalizing over 1,000 shootings and 400 to 500 deaths doesn’t cut it. The mayor of DC has figured it out. What’s wrong with Johnson and Pritzker?
