Our Saviour’s in Naperville begins wellness-focused prayer service

A new monthly prayer service at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Naperville aims to offer space for reflection and connection amid the busy-ness of the workweek.

The new service, called Common Ground, will take place the first Wednesday of every month from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Our Saviour’s sanctuary at 815 S. Washington St. in Naperville.

Each month will focus on a different dimension of wellness, such as emotional wellness or social wellness.

Developed by congregational wellness manager Alexandra Colaianni, a licensed clinical social worker, the service will include a pastor-led prayer, music, stories from the congregation and an interactive wellness activity. All ages are invited to participate; child care will be available in the nursery during the service.

“We are excited about this new opportunity to welcome our neighbors and those in surrounding communities for this special once-a-month service,” Colaianni said. “Common Ground will be a time to rest, reflect and reconnect to our wellness and what binds us together as humans when things seem so disjointed in our world.”

Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, with two campuses in central Naperville, is an inclusive, affirming Reconciling in Christ church offering both traditional and contemporary services each weekend. For more information, visit oursaviours.com.
