Mount Prospect Library catalog grows with consortium expansion

Mount Prospect Public Library cardholders will soon have access to more than 180,000 additional items as the Vernon Area Public Library in Lincolnshire joins the Cooperative Computer Services (CCS) catalog consortium.

“When we joined the catalog consortium last year, our goal was to expand access to materials for the interests and needs of our community,” said Executive Director Su Reynders. “We're building on that initial success and are excited to welcome another library to the consortium, bringing new titles into the shared catalog. With each addition to CCS, the catalog becomes a stronger tool for discovery, offering our patrons more of what they’re looking for.”

When the migration to the shared catalog is complete on Sept. 3, Mount Prospect Library cardholders will be automatically registered at Vernon Area Public Library.

Member Cooperative Computer Services libraries include Algonquin, Cary, Crystal Lake, Des Plaines, Ela (Lake Zurich), Evanston, Fox River Valley, Fremont, Glencoe, Glenview, Grayslake, Highland Park, Huntley, Indian Trails (Wheeling), Lake Forest, Lake Villa, Lincolnwood, McHenry, Morton Grove, Mount Prospect, Niles-Maine, Northbrook, Palatine, Park Ridge, Prospect Heights, Round Lake, Warren-Newport (Gurnee), Waukegan, Wilmette, Winnetka-Northfield, Zion-Benton.
