Glen Ellyn to swear in new public works director
Glen Ellyn has selected a new public works director from within the department.
John Hubsky has worked for the village for more than a decade, most recently as assistant public works director. He will take the helm of a department overseeing key village infrastructure, including roads, water and sewer utilities, and facilities, as well as its vehicle fleet.
“His knowledge of our community, combined with his proven ability to manage complex projects and build strong teams, will ensure a seamless transition and continued excellence in service delivery,” Glen Ellyn Village Manager Mark Franz said in an announcement of Hubsky’s promotion.
Hubsky succeeds Dave Buckley, who retired in August after a 35-year career in the village.
Before coming to Glen Ellyn, Hubsky worked for the city of Wheaton and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
He will be sworn in at the village board meeting on Sept. 8 and officially begin his new role on Sept. 12.
