Lincolnshire honors quick-thinking teen for rescuing struggling swimmer

At the Aug. 25 Lincolnshire Village Board meeting, Jaydynn Britva received the Community Lifesaving Award for bravely rescuing a man struggling at Spring Lake Beach.

On July 22, Jaydynn demonstrated courage and wit when he rescued a 19-year-old man struggling to stay afloat due to a severe cramp while swimming in Spring Lake Beach.

Jaydynn entered the water, swam out to the distressed swimmer, and safely brought him back to shore; an act of bravery that truly defines what it means to be a hero.
