Elgin seeks seven residents for subcommittee responsible for MLK programming

Elgin is seeking seven residents to serve on its Martin Luther King Jr. subcommittee of the Human Relations Commission.

The subcommittee is responsible for planning and organizing annual programs honoring the life and legacy of King.

The subcommittee also oversees a food donation program and a scholarship program in addition to planning the annual celebration.

Initial appointments will be made this year and priority will be given to applicants who previously have participated in planning or organizing Martin Luther King Jr. programs.
