One positive possibility

While from a non-legal, emotional perspective, sending Illinois National Guard troops to defend Chicago's citizens is a terrific idea; however, it’s a legal issue that I think disallows it. From a political perspective, as Chicago’s Mayor Brandon Johnson continues to allow Chicago citizens to be shot and wounded, shot and killed, die from drugs, have their vehicles taken with their owners many times beaten or killed, makes 2026 midterm elections increasingly positive for electing more Illinois Republicans — the only positive result from Mayor Johnson’s incompetence.
