Kubb lawn game tournament set for Saturday in Batavia

The Midwest Kubb Championship will be held Saturday at Engstrom Family Park, Main Street and Millview Drive in Batavia.

It will be hosted by Batavia-based Energy City Kubb. Registration begins at 8 a.m. on site; you can also register online. The cost is $60.

The Scandinavian lawn game involves wooden blocks set up in a back row, batons, and a taller wooden block called the king. Teams toss their own kubbs for placement, try to knock down the other team’s kubbs, then knock down the king.
