Mushroom strategy

In an AP report, Christopher Rugaber wrote: “Trump claimed that June’s employment figures were “RIGGED” to make him and other Republicans “look bad,” yet he provided no evidence (“Trump says he doesn’t trust the job data, but Wall Street and economists do,” Daily Herald, Nation and World, Aug. 5).

Trump’s lying and false claims on this and myriad other matters are closely related to the so-called mushroom strategy: Keep people in the dark and feed them plenty of horse manure. The aim is to deliberately keep people either misinformed or uninformed.

With Trump backed by a sycophantic Republican Congress and right-wing media, the American public has little chance of getting the truth from this White House Administration.

Where is the outrage?
