Mundelein business in line for village grant

A Mundelein business could receive a $4,706 grant from the village to help pay for a smoke detection and alarm system.

The village board is expected to award the grant to Lakes Apothecary, 404 N. Seymour Ave., when it meets Monday. That session is set for 7 p.m. at village hall, 300 Plaza Circle.

The money will come from the village’s Business Incentive Grant program. If the grant is awarded, the money will be delivered after the work is completed.

The project is expected to cost $9,412, documents indicate.

Under the BIG program, grants of up to $25,000 for interior improvements and up to $25,000 for exterior improvements are available.
