Let It Be Us names board leadership, expanding statewide impact

Let It Be Us, the Illinois nonprofit dedicated to transforming foster care and adoption, proudly announces the appointment of two exceptional leaders to key roles on its board of directors. Kaycee Coles has been named Vice Chair, and Robin Kelleher has been appointed Governance Chair.

As the needs of children in foster care grow more complex and the organization expands its reach statewide, these appointments mark a bold step forward in Let It Be Us’s mission to ensure every child in foster care has the opportunity to grow up in a safe, permanent, and loving home.

About the New Vice Chair — Kaycee Coles

Kaycee Coles brings a deep commitment to children and families, with extensive professional experience in leadership, community engagement, and systems change. A former educator and active member of Let It Be Us’s “Be Mine” Fundraising Committee, its largest annual fundraiser, she has long been a champion of child welfare. Her background in advocacy and nonprofit leadership will strengthen programs such as the Adoption Listing Service of Illinois, which connects waiting children with licensed families open to foster care adoption. Coles is also a parent to three children.

About the New Governance Chair — Robin Kelleher, J.D.

Robin Kelleher, an attorney with Kelleher + Holland, LLC, holds a BA in Political Science from Loyola University and a J.D. from DePaul University. She brings expertise in nonprofit governance, compliance, and board leadership. In her role as Governance Chair, she will guide the board in ensuring best practices, strategic alignment, and strong oversight to support Let It Be Us’s statewide impact. She is a parent to four children and four stepchildren.

Why this matters

In Illinois, hundreds of children in foster care are waiting to be adopted, particularly older youth, sibling groups, and those with complex medical or emotional needs. Let It Be Us addresses this urgent need through innovative technology, direct family recruitment, and exceptional support services that bridge the gap between children in care and families ready to say “yes.”

About Let It Be Us
