Kane County hosts low-cost rabies vaccine and microchip clinic Aug. 23

Kane County Animal Control has announced the fall dates for its popular low-cost, drive-through rabies vaccine and microchip clinics.

The clinics will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, Aug. 23 and Oct. 18, and 4:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17.

All clinics take place at the Kane County Animal Control Facility, 4060 Keslinger Road, Geneva.

The fee for one-year rabies vaccine with tag is $30 (neutered) or $55 (not neutered). There is a senior discount for age 65 or older with ID); it is $15 (neutered) or $25 (not neutered). It is $15 for microchip.

All owners must verify that their pet has not bitten anyone in the past 10 days. An adult (age 18 or older) must be present and handle the animal.

If your pet requires a muzzle, the owner must provide it and ensure it is on before entering the clinic.

Kane County residents are required by law to purchase a registration tag at the time of vaccination.
