Beach at Paulus Park in Lake Zurich closed this weekend

The beach at Paulus Park, 200 S. Rand Road (Route 12) in Lake Zurich, will be closed this weekend due to elevated bacteria levels.

It’s the first closure of the beach this season. The Lake County Health Department conducted tests Thursday. Results Friday morning showed a high bacteria level necessitating the full closure of the beach, village officials said.

The beach was last open Aug. 10.

Anyone with a nonmotorized craft season permit can launch if they can do so without entering the water.
