Naperville house damaged when vehicle ignites in driveway
A Naperville house was damaged early Tuesday morning when a vehicle ignited in the driveway.
Fire officials said a neighbor reported the fire just after 12:45 a.m. at a home on the 500 block of Scots Drive.
Residents were able to escape the house uninjured before firefighters arrived. No firefighters were hurt battling the blaze either, fire officials said.
It took nearly 30 minutes to bring the fire under control and another 30 minutes until it was declared extinguished, fire officials said.
The blaze caused an estimated $110,000 in damage and rendered the home uninhabitable.
The cause remains under investigation.
