Rothwell named assistant principal at Lincoln Middle School
Lincoln Middle School has a new assistant principal. The Mount Prospect Elementary District 57 school board approved Janet Rothwell at Friday’s meeting.
For the past two years, Rothwell has worked as a dean at Streamwood High School, supporting both the counseling and student success teams. She worked closely with more than 550 students, their families and teachers.
She also helped introduce new ways to handle discipline that focused on repairing relationships, kept a close eye on student progress to address academic and behavioral needs, and developed a new system for teachers to report and track behavior across the school.
Prior to working at Streamwood, she taught at both Stevenson High School and Loyola Academy.
“Janet stood out immediately in the interview process,” Lincoln Middle School Principal Eric Larson said. “She is calm under pressure, collaborative in her approach and committed to empowering others through communication and shared ownership. Her leadership style, grounded in transparency and accountability, will be an incredible asset to our school community.”
Rothwell officially began her new role this month.
“My goal is to ensure that every member of our school feels valued, supported and empowered to succeed,” she said.
