Wheeling police issued 330 speeding tickets in July, department announces
Wheeling police officers ticketed 330 drivers for speeding during a monthlong traffic safety campaign in July, the department announced Tuesday.
Seventeen additional tickets were written for seat belt violations, six for child car seat violations and 48 for distracted driving, among others, police said.
The campaign was paid for with federal funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
