Elgin’s Voices Unlimited Chorus welcomes new singers

This is one of two times each year when the Voices Unlimited Chorus accepts new singers. If you would like to sing with us, we’d love to have you!

And the best part is you don’t have to read music, be a soloist or even audition. Yes, we have solo quality voices and yes, we have members who read. But it’s not a requirement for membership. The three requirements are you want to sing, have fun doing it and make new friends!

The rehearsals begin Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Journey of Hope Methodist Church, Highland Avenue and Randall in Elgin. The chorus rehearses each Tuesday from 6:45 to 8:30 p.m. until the December concert.

The holiday concert, “A Christmas Invitation,” will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, hosted by Immanuel Lutheran Church in East Dundee. That’s where the chorus sang its first concert and sold out all 330 seats!

The program combines both scared and secular Christmas music. “Do You Hear What I Hear?,” “The Little Drummer Boy,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Mighty King” are just several of the familiar selections they will be singing.
