Suspense, satire, family drama make up Citadel Theatre’s 2025-2026 season
Citadel Theatre announced Wednesday that its 2025-2026 season begins Sept. 10 with the stage adaptation of “Misery,” William Goldman’s adaptation of Stephen King’s novel about a romance novelist and the obsessed fan who terrorizes him after he kills off her favorite characters.
Next up is Tom Dudzick’s comedy “Miracle on South Division Street” (Nov. 12-Dec. 14), about a Buffalo, New York, woman who upends a long-cherished Christmas Eve story that shakes her family to the core.
Previews begin Feb. 11, 2026, for “Admissions,” Joshua Harmon’s drama about an admissions director attempting to diversify the student body at her elite prep school and whose beliefs are upended when her son gets rejected by an Ivy League college.
Citadel’s season concludes with “Ruthless! The Musical” (April 15-May 17, 2026), the satirical tuner by Joel Paley and Marvin Laird about an 8-year-old child star who will stop at nothing to land the lead in her grade-school musical.
Performances take place at the West Campus building of the Lake Forest School District, 300 S. Waukegan Road, Lake Forest.
A four-show season subscription is $120. Flex passes are $100 for three shows and $70 for two shows. Preview flex passes are $40 for two shows, $50 for three shows and $60 for four shows. Subscriptions and $45 single tickets are available at citadeltheatre.org.
