Hoffman Estates hosts recycling event Aug. 23

Hoffman Estates is teaming with the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County for its free annual recycling drop-off and document destruction event on Saturday, Aug. 23.

Scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon at the village’s Public Works Center, 2305 Pembroke Ave., the event is open to residents of towns served by SWANCC. For a list of SWANCC members, visit swancc.org.

For a list of items that will be accepted for recycling, visit hoffmanestates.org/green.

For document destruction, paper must be dry, clean and loose, and metal clips, plastic sleeves, folders and binders should be removed (small staples are OK). Paper should be placed in paper shopping bags or cardboard boxes, and residents are limited to six bags or boxes.

Residents should remain in their vehicles while attending this event, and workers will unload recyclables from their vehicles.
