Jim Slusher to speak on ‘News Media, Truth and Trust’ at Gail Borden Library
Jim Slusher, the Daily Herald’s managing editor for opinion, will present “News Media, Truth and Trust” from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin.
The news media landscape grows broader and more diverse every day. This can provide more opportunities than we have ever had for understanding our society, our communities and our world. But it also brings pitfalls. Slusher, who has been discussing such questions in his weekly newspaper column for 25 years, will examine the scope of today's news media landscape and offer tips for finding reliable sources and identifying those with their own special agenda.
The program is free. Register at gailborden.info.
