Enjoy food, music and fun at Gurnee Days Aug. 9-10

Gurnee Days returns Saturday and Sunday Aug. 9-10, with live music, food, vendors, fireworks, a parade and more. Most events take place at Viking Park, 4374 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee.

Musical performances include Tim Gleason Whiskey Country Band at 5:15 p.m. and ARRA at 8 p.m. Saturday, and 90s Pop Nation at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Food options include the Exchange Club of Gurnee’s Ribfest, 11 local food vendors and nine food trucks.

The Gurnee Days Parade will take place at noon on Sunday. The parade route begins at North Greenleaf Street, continues west on Old Grand Avenue and ends at Emerald Avenue.

A Community Art Show will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in the Viking Park Dance Hall. The annual Gurnee Days Car Show featuring classic cars, trucks, motorcycles and more will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

The 2025 Gurnee Days Bags Tournament will take place at 12:45 p.m. Saturday. Registration and warm-ups begin at noon. Advance registration is $30 per team by Aug. 6; day-of registration is $40 per team if spots are still available (limited to 32 teams). Champions will be awarded T-shirts with cash prizes awarded to the top three teams.

This year’s Gurnee Days Honoree will be Martha Welton-Schmidt. She will be honored at a testimonial reception Friday, Aug. 8, at the Warren Township Center and serve as Grand Marshall of the Gurnee Days parade.
