Elgin foundation receives grant to advance STEAM education for students with autism

The Winston Knolls Foundation for Thriving with Autism has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Global Tech Impact Alliance to launch its “STEAM Scholars Program: Igniting Autistic Minds through Interactive Learning.”

The initiative will equip every classroom at the Elgin school with state-of-the-art interactive whiteboards, transforming learning experiences for students with autism and enhancing skills like communication, creativity, independence, and future workforce readiness.

The school serves children ages 3-21 from across the region and provides a therapeutic and individualized education for students with autism spectrum and related developmental disorders.
