Libertyville’s Festival of the Arts to include performance by cellist Drew Wiegman

The 44th Annual Festival of the Arts will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3, in Cook Park, downtown Libertyville.

This free and popular two-day art and music festival will bring together thousands of local artists, performers, and community members, highlighting the vibrant cultural scene of Lake County. Attendees can enjoy delicious offerings from local food trucks and participate in a variety of family-friendly art activities.

Lake County's own Drew Wiegman is one of the acts scheduled to perform at the event. Wiegman is a maverick in the music world, an accomplished improvisational cellist who plays entirely by ear. He leans on raw talent and an ear for artistic intuition to craft life-affirming music that stirs the heart and soul.

Wiegman has brought the cello from classical concert halls to the mainstream, performing movie scores, pop favorites, classical compositions and his own original music.

Over the past four years, Wiegman has gained nearly 800,000 TikTok followers through daily livestreams. He experiments across genres, believing, “No matter who you are, I have a song for you.”
