No one hurt in Tuesday night house fire in Naperville

No injuries were reported from a Naperville house fire Tuesday night that left the home uninhabitable and caused an estimated $100,000 in damage.

Fire officials said no one was home at the time of the blaze, which was reported just before 8:30 p.m. at a two-story, single-family home on the 1000 block of Frances Court.

Smoke was visible when firefighters arrived to discover heavy flames on both floors.

Fire officials said the attack was hampered because the fire had burned a hole through the second floor.

It took nearly an hour to bring the fire under control and additional crews were brought in to help. Firefighters remained on scene for nearly three hours to conduct overhaul operations and check for hot spots.

Fire crews were called back to the home just after 6 a.m. after additional smoke was reported from the roof. Firefighters spent several minutes pouring water on the roof.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
