Cougars beat Dogs in rain-shortened game

The Kane County Cougars beat the Chicago Dogs 8-2 in Wednesday’s rain-shortened game.

The Dogs started Dwayne Marshall against the Cougars’ Jack Fox. Kane County took an early lead with a Nick Dalesandro home run, and the Cougars went up 6-0 in the fourth inning. An Alex McGarry home run increased the lead to 8-0.

TJ Hopkins hit a two-run home run for the Dogs, but rain ended the game in the eighth inning.
