We the People …
During creation, most organizations adopt a mission statement or other aspirational document to point the direction they wish to follow. In this country we have the “Preamble” to the constitution to guide us. It’s a forever document with no end date. The Preamble is short and only one sentence long, but it is mighty in its aspiration for all of us. It reads, “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence (sic), promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
Our founders expected Congress to pass laws in support of this aspiration, the judiciary was expected to use this compass to determine if these laws were in-line with our aspiration and the administration was expected to faithfully follow it.
In 1215, the Magna Carta stated that no one was above the law, including Kings! Yet the Supreme Court has desecrated this sacred document when it gave our president unlimited power. In 2010, they proclaimed that Corporations and Unions were people. Imagine this. I’m waiting for one of them to give birth. Do they make maternity clothes for them? In 2025, we see an administration rounding up people without due process and deporting them to foreign countries. ICE often wears masks. This is the behavior of terrorists. A behavior so despicable that even the Gestapo didn’t do this. Note: The Russian Military spending is roughly the same as the ICE budget of $100B which just passed. Clearly, we’ve lost our way. In 2025 we swore into office a tyrant who seems determined to bend, not just us, but the world to his whim. Like all tyrants, he has surrounded himself with “YES SIR” people without the backbone to say, “NO SIR.”
They must be afraid of retribution and unaware of how incredibly grateful “We the People” would be if they showed a little courage.
