Sad state for All Stars
I really do not believe that this note doesn't have any political overtures. This letter addresses the major league baseball so called All Star game. First and last; the game ends after nine innings in a tie. Do you continue play? No, you play home run derby like it is backyard Wiffle ball by kids. Stupid!
Look at this game as a whole. No pitcher goes more than one inning. In the White Sox case, their representative, Smith, faced two batters. A Brewer pitcher who has only played five major league games pitched an inning. This is a far cry from years ago when Steve Stone started the game and pitched three innings, Ernie Banks played five or six innings. It's supposed to be an All Star game, not a spring training exercise. Either play the game as meaningful or just forget the whole thing.
