Bull's-eye on the bill

Your editorial urging that Gov. Pritzker veto the bill expanding lawsuit access in Illinois to people from anywhere claiming toxic exposure, hit the bull's-eye. If I was a betting man, however, I would bet against a veto and for a gubernatorial genuflection before the Illinois trial lawyers. The same can be said about Illinois adopting the tax credit for school choice provided for in the Big Beautiful Bill. The governor's genuflection in that case will be at the feet of the teachers' union, and his denial of the credit to Illinoisans is almost certain. As to both, I hope that I am wrong, but when it comes to principles, Gov. Pritzker is malleable, at best.
