Bartlett man facing firearm, battery charges

A Bartlett man is facing felony weapons and battery charges after police responded to a call to his home Wednesday.

Jose Montanez, 57, of the 1000 block of Waterford Road, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a repeat offender as well as separate counts of domestic battery and aggravated domestic battery.

Officers were dispatched to the home at about noon Wednesday in response to a reported fight. They allege Montanez battered another member of the household and illegally possessed a firearm.

Montanez was ordered held at the DuPage County jail to await his next court hearing scheduled for Aug. 18.
