Second annual Water Street Fine Art Fair draws artists and aficionados of all ages

Downtown Naperville’s Water Street was teeming with artists and art fans alike on Sunday, July 13, at the second annual Water Street Fine Art & Fine Craft Fair.

The show presented the work of 18 regional artists who work in painting, ceramics, glass, wood and digital art.

But visitors of all ages got into the act thanks to two artists from the DuPage Children’s Museum who invited all comers to create in brightly colored chalk all over Water Street.

From tiny children to wedding guests staying at Hotel Indigo, these would-be artist filled the street with flowers, suns, rainbows, bugs and more while onlookers relaxed in the shade and enjoyed samba and jazz provided by Pete Ellman ensembles.

Some 1,800 visitors strolled the Water Street fair, Foyo Plaza and the Riverwalk on a perfect Summer Sunday.
