Pub Theology conversations return Aug. 4

Pub Theology, monthly conversations on contemporary topics, will be coming to Up North Winery in Geneva this fall.

The Rev. Rob Hamilton, pastor at United Methodist Church of Geneva, announced the schedule. With Geneva UMC, co-hosts are Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva, Geneva Lutheran Church and Fox Valley Presbyterian Church, Geneva.

The gatherings take place at 6:30 p.m. in the tasting room of the winery, 9 N. Second St. in Geneva. The public is invited. Admission and parking are free.

The discussion topics will be “New-ish Beginnings” on Aug. 4; “What Happened to Common Ground?” on Sept. 22; and “Express Yourself: The Storied Art of Self-Expression” on Oct. 7. The topics of the Nov. 4 and Dec. 9 gatherings will be announced later.

RSVPs are requested, but not required. Visit uusg.org/pub-theology.

Geneva UMC pastor Rev. Rob Hamilton said, “Pub Theology is where deep questions and honest dialogue meet good drinks and new friendships. This is an open table for people of all backgrounds and beliefs to explore big ideas in a welcoming and curious community.

“Attendees will find respectful, thoughtful conversation — no lectures, no pressure, no preaching. Come ready to share, listen, and grow. We sit together, ask good questions, and enjoy each other’s company. Bring your whole self-doubts, beliefs, humor, and humanity included,” Pastor Hamilton said.
