Concert Opera of Greater Chicago presents bel canto masterpiece: Donizetti’s ‘La Favorita’

Concert Opera of Greater Chicago has announced its summer production of Gaetano Donizetti’s bel canto masterpiece, “La Favorita,” an Italian opera in four acts to be performed in concert version with English supertitles.

The COGC chorus and orchestra will be conducted by Maestro William Intriligator; Music Director and Conductor of the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra in Iowa and the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra in Wyoming.

Performances will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at The Gorton Center, 400 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest.

• Chorus: Samuel Curry, Emily Thompson, Jonathon Joseph Larson, Joshua Poucher and Eric Butler of Chicago; Sarah Rattana of Crystal Lake; Eunice Ayodele of Forest Park; Gina Frank of Lake Forest; William Ortega and Colleen Ortega of Oak Park; Jennifer Reckamp and Morgan Reckamp of River Forest; Alexandra Torchinskiy of Rogers Park; Karen Buccola, John Tiffin and Kathleen Tiffin of Skokie; and Ryan Morrison of Warrenville.
