Naperville Turkey Trot returns for 28th year

The Naperville Noon Lions Club will host its 28th annual 5K Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning Nov. 27, starting at 8 a.m. Registration is now open; only online registration accepted.

This is a chip-timed race with awards given to the top three overall male and female finishers as well as the top three finishers in each age group.

Runners, walkers, running strollers and special needs runners/walkers are welcome.

The fee is $35 until Oct. 31, $40 until Nov. 21 or $45 through race day; online fees apply.

It is $30 for children, age 10 to 14, or $25 for children age 9 and under. No dogs (except guide and service dogs) or other animals. All proceeds benefit individuals with vision, hearing or diabetes issues.

The race is limited to the first 8,000 registrants. Go to napervilleturkeytrot.com to register or more information.

Packet pickup will be at The Running Company Store in downtown Naperville on Nov. 22-26 and at Naperville Central High School on race day starting at 7 a.m. A complimentary breakfast will be available after the race for registered runners.
