From broomsticks to spirit boards, Hot Ghoul Summer creeps into Naperville July 27

Things are about to get weird — in the best possible way. On Sunday, July 27, from noon to 5 p.m., Noon Whistle Brewing in Naperville is transforming into a haven of haunted beauty, offbeat curiosities, and magical mayhem for a market like no other: Hot Ghoul Summer.

Presented by the Streetz Artz Alliance, this one-day-only market brings together 21 handpicked artists, each offering something delightfully unexpected. Whether you're drawn to dark decor, intention candles, resin curios, or the perfect cursed trinket to top off your bookshelf, this event has something for every strange and curious soul.

The market is indoors, free to attend, family friendly, and located at 1748 W. Jefferson Ave. in Naperville, with plenty of parking on-site.

This month’s theme spins a spooky twist on summer shopping, filling the taproom with all things mystical, macabre, and handmade. Grab a cold craft beer or hard seltzer from the bar, browse an eerie (but inviting) selection of wares, and soak in the unique vibe while live music plays on the patio and a delicious food pop-up serves lunch.

New to this month’s market are artists Cryptid Claywerks, Fossil Creek Art, Secondhand Nightmares, and Windy City Conjure — each bringing a distinct blend of the spooky, spiritual, and handcrafted. You’ll also find favorites like Ten Cups Tarot, DK Custom Woodwork, and Wanna Pickle Gourmet Foods, so even if your tastes lean more sweet than spooky, you’re covered.

Some highlights include:

• Cryptid Claywerks: Handmade ceramics with a horror twist, inspired by Muppets, goblins, and monsters. Everything is food, microwave, and dishwasher safe — from vases to bowls to orc-faced mugs.

• Primtentions: Founded by a Navy veteran and Pagan craftsperson, this brand centers intention and healing. Products include wire-wrapped crystal jewelry, skull candles, and energy-infused art rooted in empowerment and spiritual connection.

• Windy City Conjure: With roots in Southern conjure and Louisiana Vodou, Lola Ray offers over 20 years of experience in manifestation tools. Her table includes fixed candles, conjure oils, foot track powders, Florida water, and more — right down to chicken feet.

• Secondhand Nightmares: Haunting home decor made from reclaimed and upcycled materials. Expect ghostly prints, hand-painted oddities, and one-of-a-kind assemblage art that turns the unwanted into the unforgettable.

• Nethercrafts: A queer-owned business offering handmade resin works including spirit boards, trinkets, and insect terrariums — perfect for the altar, bookshelf, or shadowy corner of your imagination.

• Fossil Creek Art: Mythology meets sustainability. Find ink drawings of cryptids and fossils, wildflower watercolors, and mimic-shaped jewelry boxes. All totes and pouches are made from repurposed fabric and vintage finds.

And for those who crave more than the mystical: find knitwear, mugs, bookmarks, folklore books, jewelry, bath salts, stickers, custom name plates, lip balm, and giant jars of pickled vegetables. From gothic to cute to oddly charming, there’s a vibe for every visitor.

Outside, enjoy live music from Pete Jive Live from 1 to 4 p.m. Known for his upbeat and intimate sets, Pete turns every show into an immersive, feel-good experience. The event also features a food pop-up from Dark Horse Grill & Catering starting at noon — serving until 5 p.m. or sellout.

Even better? Several artists will be donating a portion of their proceeds to charities including Fire Buddies, League of Enchantment Chicago, Illinois Coalition for Immigrant & Refugee Rights, and the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.

This is the third show of four shows this Summer that the Streetz Artz Alliance is bringing to the Naperville taproom. The application is set to go live soon on streetzartzalliance.com and is planned to be a Comics, Cards & Vinyl theme!
