Fix All-Star Game
It’s no surprise that TV viewership of baseball’s All Star game is down. Instead of a competitive game, this has become a show designed for non baseball fans entertainment. The game itself has become a microcosm of our society — inclusion and equity are more important than winning. Everyone must play, which is like in little leagues.
True fans want to see the stars play as much as possible. Instead, we get miked-up nobodies answering stupid questions from announcers.
My suggestion is to forget televising the game, or advertise it as a show rather than a ball game. Baseball is the only sport where you could actually have a competitive all-star game, but unfortunately the game has become beholden to TV promoters who have no idea what baseball fans want.
