Friends of the AHML Big Summer Sale Aug. 1-3

The Friends of the Arlington Heights Memorial Library will host their summer Used Book Sale Aug. 1-3.

The sale begins with member’s night, 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2; continues with an Adult and Kids Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3; and finally a Children’s Sale and $8 Bag Sale from noon to 3 p.m. and Adult Sale from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday Aug. 4.

The Adult sale is held in the Hendrickson Room on the second floor, and the Children’s sale is held in the Cardinal Room on the first floor near the Dunton Avenue entrance. The Adult sale will feature nonfiction books, sorted by category; fiction; vintage books; books in foreign languages; DVDs; Blu-Rays; music CDs; vinyl records; art and posters; and audiobooks. The Children’s sale features board and picture books; easy readers; novels and nonfiction; teen fiction; toys and games; DVDs; and CDs.

Auction and Buy It Now items will be for sale on the second floor. Auction bidding begins Friday at 6 p.m. and ends Saturday at 2 p.m. Buy It Now features unique books and items; BIN sales continue through Sunday at 2 p.m.

A person must be a member to enter Friday’s Members’ Night. Memberships may be purchased online at ahml.info/friends ($5 per individual, $10 per family, $25 patron, or $100 life), at the second floor reception desk beginning at 9 a.m. Friday Aug. 1, or on Members’ night at the sale on Friday. To get a place in line early, members may pick up a number at the second floor reception desk beginning Friday at 9 a.m. Shoppers should arrive 15 minutes before the sale begins to line up in numerical order for entry.

Scanning is not allowed at FOL sales on any device. Call or text outside the salesrooms.

For the Children’s Sale Only, a 25% teacher discount will be offered with valid ID on Friday or Saturday. There will be an $8 Children’s bag sale on Sunday; fill up a shopping bag with as many books as you want for $8. The 25% discount does not apply to Sunday bag sales.

The Arlington Heights Memorial Library is at 500 N. Dunton Ave., Arlington Heights.

The Friends accept cash, checks, credit cards and PayPal for payment.
