Fire hydrant painting underway in Arlington Heights

Fire hydrant painting is underway in Arlington Heights. It will take roughly one month to complete the 296 hydrants scheduled to be repainted, weather permitting.

The routine painting helps fire hydrants last longer, and helps improve visibility, according to the village. During the process, the fire hydrant may have a gray or white primer applied, before it is repainted with the traditional red color.
