Water Street Fine Art & Fine Crafts Show offers festive atmosphere for all ages
The Water Street Fine Art & Fine Craft Fair, a juried art exhibition and sale, will have plenty for kids and adults to enjoy on Sunday, July 13, along Water and Webster streets in downtown Naperville, adjacent to the Naperville Riverwalk, Naper Settlement and Hotel Indigo Naperville Riverwalk.
The show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. will include a gathering of regional artists exhibiting fine art and fine crafts including painting, graphics, photography, mixed media, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, glass and wood. Several artists are returning this year, along with a number of new exhibitors.
Kiddos will get to create art literally on Water Street, guided by chalk artists from the DuPage Children’s Museum. In addition to viewing and purchasing a wide array of art and craft goods, visitors can dance and sway to live samba and jazz on the street.
This year the Water Street Fine Art & Fine Craft Fair will coincide with the Downtown Naperville Sizzlin’ Summer Sidewalk Sale, scheduled from Thursday- Sunday.
Water Street features several eateries open for brunch, lunch and dinner including Sparrow Coffee Roastery, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Shop, Plank Kitchen in Hotel Indigo, Blue Sushi Sake Grill, Quiubo, Santo Cielo, SixtyFour Wine Bar & Kitchen, and Vasili’s Mediterranean, many including outdoor seating or views of the DuPage River.
A cooling fountain and splash pad grace Foyo Plaza, and Water Street connects to Jaycees Park with outdoor wifi-enabled covered seating areas. Admission to the show is free and free parking is available in the Hotel Indigo Parking Garage or Municipal Center upper deck.
“Not only can visitors enjoy the splendor of the Riverwalk and the myriad restaurants and shops on Water Street,” said Deb Newman, who is organizing the show on behalf of Marquette Companies, “But we are thrilled to be hosting an even larger group of talented local artists at this more intimate, leisurely event on a Summer Sunday afternoon. We’re looking forward to introducing the youngest art fans to the joy of creating in a beautiful space.”
