Time for a change

Randall Road serves areas from North to South, Crystal Lake, Lake in the Hills, Algonquin, Carpentersville, West Dundee, Sleepy Hollow, Elgin, South Elgin, St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia, North Aurora, and Aurora.

The road is four lanes for most of its length and six lanes for a short distance. It carries a significant amount of traffic, estimated to range from 39,000 to 48,000 cars and trucks at times. The road is well known for being lined with retailers and large shopping centers for its entire length.

Randall Road remains unique due to its high-speed limit and the prevalence of reckless driving and drivers who do not adhere to the posted speed limit, which is far too high for the amount of traffic and the numerous driveways serving shopping centers, restaurants, and other establishments. Randall Road, because of its high-speed limit and large volume of traffic, has a lot of car accidents, many of them fatal.

Randall Road is no longer a covered wagon or Model A type of road. The drivers of today are far more aggressive and reckless. The time is past due to lower the speed limit on the length of Randall Road to a sensible speed limit and possibly save someone from injuries or death and ask law enforcement to enforce the traffic laws.
