Glen Ellyn Park District participates in ‘Unplug Illinois’
The Glen Ellyn Park District will take part in a statewide “Unplug Illinois” initiative with a free event that gives people an outlet away from screens.
The park district will host the event on Saturday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center on St. Charles Road.
Families and individuals of all ages are welcome to “plug into play” with a range of tech-free activities involving fitness, games, sports, arts and crafts, and nature-based recreation.
The Illinois Park and Recreation Association launched the campaign to get folks to “ditch their electronic devices,” its website says, and instead check out local park district offerings.
