Dockhounds beat Cougars
The Lake Country Dockhounds beat the Kane County Cougars 10-4 in a rain-shortened game that ended in the seventh inning Tuesday at Northwestern Medicine Field.
After the Dockhounds extended the lead to 4-0, the Cougars showed signs of life. Trendon Craig doubled and was singled in by Josh Allen. Todd Lott singled in Josh Allen to make it 4-2.
Dockhounds starter Kyle Lobstein retired the next nine Cougars in order and scored the next five runs. Kane County found some life again in the bottom of the sixth. After a pair of singles by Armond Upshaw and Claudio Finol, Nick Dalesandro grounded a ball through the left side of the infield that scored both runs to pull the Cougars within 9-4.
