Perspective on power

Orlando Stratman asserted on June 30 that when Democrats who claim the president exceeded his power when he bombed Iran were ignoring or ignorant of the War Powers Resolution of 1973, which he said “states the president can take military action without prior approval.” He admonished that they, as well as the Daily Herald editorial staff, familiarize themselves with this resolution.

Please remember that the War Powers Act states this “power exists to repel sudden attacks or in response to imminent threats,” because therein lies the problem.

The contention of the people Stratman is criticizing is that they are not convinced Trump's action was in response to either repelling a sudden attack or responding to an imminent threat.
