Misrepresentation? Or lies?
Jillian Grauman wrote a letter defending illegal activities by politicians and misrepresented confirmed facts and video evidence. Sen. Alex Padilla, without identifying himself, barged into an ongoing news conference by the Homeland Security secretary and menacingly walked toward her. Her security detail did exactly as trained.
They quickly removed him from the danger zone. If he were an assassin, she would be dead. After being removed from the news conference, he then and only then, identified himself and demanded an audience with the secretary. People watching the video of this incident know fully well that his intentions were purely for political attention.
The writer refers to the judge in Wisconsin, who, in the middle of a trial for domestic abuse, herded an immigration defendant wanted by federal agents waiting for him out a side door to assist him in his escape. That’s not only disrespectful to the victim, but it’s a violation of federal law.
The writer continues to misrepresent video evidence of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and Rep. Monica McIver, defending their arrogant and unlawful physical contact with federal agents, which is a felony. People, no matter who they are, cannot push or shove federal agents while engaged in the lawful performance of their duties. As the saying goes. Nobody is above the law. And that includes people you support.
