Covering all sides is appreciated

I love this newspaper. Why? Because it covers all sides of many things, but mostly in politics.

Some readers stated they like the Opinion page to find out what people think. Well, what did you find out? They probably eagerly read the opinions of the opposite side and they must admit, the other side expresses their opinions less viciously and more or less questions whether or not the other side is capable of understanding. We should talk about facts.

Of course, we all have opinions, but are they substantiated with actual facts. Sadly, facts are no longer appreciated to be published in any kind of news. Therefore, I give Daily Herald my compliments and gratefulness for publishing everyone’s opinion, regardless if they are supported by facts. They print what we say and that takes a lot of courage at the present time to do.

It seems we are going back in time and shutting down anything that is not suitable for some. Knowledge and science must be supported and funded. Shutting down universities, withdrawing money from schools, threatening public broadcasting stations that discussing politics, shutting down cultural events, not to forget anything that makes this country great, clean air and water, shutting down hospitals and efforts to make our life on earth livable as long as most of us still live.

Everyone has the right to be informed of what is going on presently in this world, to accept climate change and contribute to maintaining what we have and not shortening life on earth
