Renowned European handbell ensemble Arsis to perform at Elk Grove Village church
Christus Victor Lutheran Church in Elk Grove Village will host an Arsis Handbell Ensemble Concert on Sunday, July 13.
The concert will begin at 6 p.m. at the church, 1045 S. Arlington Heights Road. There will be a freewill offering to offset travel expenses.
Arsis Handbell Ensemble is one of Europe’s leading handbell groups, renowned for its virtuosity, artistry, and distinctive sound.
Arsis' U.S. tour will take place July 5-18, with performances in Baltimore, Maryland; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Louisville, Kentucky; Elk Grove Village and Alton, Illinois; Akron, Ohio; and Hershey, Pennsylvania.
The highlight of the tour is Arsis’ featured concert at Pinnacle 2025 — the premier handbell music event in the United States. It will be Friday, July 11, in Wichita, Kansas.
The concert program, “From Bach to Pärt,” features timeless classical masterpieces (Bach, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky) alongside evocative works by Estonian composers, including Heino Eller, Tõnu Kõrvits, and especially Arvo Pärt, whose 90th birthday will be celebrated in 2025.
