Schaumburg’s free summer concert series returns in July and August
Looking for the soundtrack to your summer? Get ready for the Prairie Center for the Arts’ annual Summer Breeze Concert Series, proudly sponsored by the Village of Schaumburg and Schaumburg Park District.
The free outdoor concerts happen on select Saturdays in July and August, starting at 7 p.m.. on the beautifully landscaped grounds of the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts at 201 Schaumburg Court.
This year’s lineup brings a variety of local favorites and tribute acts that will make you want to sing and dance along all night. Bring your friends, lawn chairs, blankets, and maybe even a picnic dinner to enjoy next to the municipal pond while soaking in the sounds of summer. Food and drinks are also available for purchase on-site.
• July 5: Billy Elton
Led by Reid Spears on piano and vocals, this 8-piece band takes audiences on a timeless journey through the catalogs of two of the greatest singers, pianists, and songwriters in pop music history, Billy Joel and Elton John.
Head to the show early to enjoy a special performance by talented young musicians from the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts’ inaugural Schaumburg Youth Orchestra Jazz Intensive Camp. The jazz ensemble will perform at 6 p.m. in the Jack Siegel Memorial Plaza, located next to the Prairie Center.
• July 12: Illinois Brass Band
Illinois Brass Band has astonished audiences with the power, virtuosity, and beauty of British-style brass band music since 1991. Through performances, recordings, and participation in competitions and festivals, Illinois Brass Band continues to bring the excitement of brass band music to general audiences and brass aficionados alike.
• July 19: Sealed with a Kiss
One of the Chicago area’s fastest growing cover bands, Schaumburg’s own Sealed with a Kiss has wowed crowds at Septemberfest, Hops and Props, and festivals all over the northwest suburbs. With powerhouse vocals and expert musicianship, Sealed with a Kiss delivers high-energy renditions of favorite hits from the ‘70s through today.
• Aug. 9: HAIR
Get ready to rock out with HAIR, a high-energy cover band that emulates the look and sounds of the 1980s! Backed by strong harmonies and outstanding musicians, the band’s dynamic female lead vocalist delivers some of the best music of the decade, including hits from Guns N’ Roses, Heart, Bon Jovi, Poison, Journey, and more.
• Aug. 16: The Chicago Experience
Experience the sound and feel of Chicago’s hit songs that have spanned generations of fans! Rockin’ guitars, stunning vocals, and sizzling brass combine in an unforgettable evening of music from the ultimate tribute concert honoring the legendary band, Chicago.
• Aug. 23: The Rumours Five
Journey back in time to relive Fleetwood Mac in their prime! Based in Chicago, The Rumours Five: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac immerses audiences into the mystical world of 1970s rock ‘n’ roll where you will experience the renowned music that defined the era.
Know before you go:
To park at the grounds, enter at Prairie Center Drive via Schaumburg Road. Schaumburg Court via Summit Drive remains closed during the construction of village hall. Overflow parking is available in the School District 54 administration building parking lot at 524 E. Schaumburg Road.
Concerts happen rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, performances will be moved indoors to the Maggie Atcher Theatre at the Prairie Center (limited capacity). For weather updates or last-minute venue changes, visit the Prairie Center website or call their box office at (847) 895‑3600.
