Wilke Road closure in Palatine begins July 7

As part of the Illinois Department of Transportation's Route 53 improvements, Wilke Road (also known as West Illinois Route 53 Frontage Road) will be closed to allow for storm sewer construction work on Route 53.

Wilke Road/West Frontage Road from Claremont Drive to Victoria Drive will be closed to all traffic beginning on July 7. A detour route will be posted directing traffic to use East Frontage Road from Palatine Road to Rand Road.

IDOT expects the work to be completed and West Frontage Road reopened to traffic the week of Aug. 4, depending on weather.
