Palatine police find missing 63-year-old man
Palatine police have found a missing 63-year-old man who has been exhibiting signs of dementia.
Police said at approximately 1 p.m. Tuesday, the man was found during a joint search operation involving the Palatine police and fire departments, the Cook County sheriff’s office and the Cook County Forest Preserve police.
He was spotted by a sheriff’s office drone operator, laying in dense brush within the Deer Grove Forest Preserve, authorities said.
Following the drone sighting, Palatine emergency workers and the Cook County Forest Preserve police responded to the area and safely recovered the man. He was taken to a local hospital.
Police said the man left his residence on the 1100 block of North Sterling Avenue in Palatine around 3 p.m. Monday.
