Police plan crack down on dangerous driving practices along Grand Avenue corridor

Police agencies in Waukegan, Gurnee, Lindenhurst, Lake Villa with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois State Police will collaborate Tuesday, July 1, on a regional effort to improve traffic safety along the Route 132 (Grand Avenue) corridor.

The high-visibility enforcement effort will focus on dangerous driving behaviors such as speeding, distracted driving and seat belt violations. The goal isn’t just writing tickets, authorities say, but to change behavior, reduce crashes and save lives.
