Take time to learn cause of plane crash

I was deeply pained and shocked by the crash of Air India flight 171 from Ahmedabad, India to London Gatwick Airport in Britain. As a person of Indian origin who has flown to India many times (including from the UK), this was very personal for me. It is such days that remain in our memories for a long time, but for extremely painful reasons.

On behalf of the Indian diaspora in Chicagoland, I extend my deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims both in flight and on the ground. I would also like to express my solidarity with the appropriate authorities both in India and elsewhere as they continue to conduct a thorough investigation on one of the most tragic disasters in aviation history.

I respectfully ask everyone, including in the Indian community, to avoid jumping to conclusions until we know all the facts.

May the souls of the deceased rest in eternal peace.
